Sea dream meaning in Islam

What the classical Islamic books of dream interpretation say about this symbol, with the book and page.

What al-Nabulsi wrote

Did you see the sea in your dream? Al-Nabulsi wrote in Ta'tir al-Anam that whoever sees the sea may obtain something they hoped for. It is said whoever drinks sea water learns refinement, and whoever bathes in it may have their sins forgiven and their worry lifted. Interpretation differs with the dreamer's state, and Allah knows best.

From the book

  • «البحر أصاب شيئا كان يرجوه»“The sea: one obtained something one was hoping for”
  • «وقيل من شرب من ماء البحر تعلم من الأدب بقدر ما شرب منه»“It is said: whoever drinks from the water of the sea learns refinement in the measure one drank of it”
  • «فإن اغتسل منه فإنه يكفر عنه الذنوب ويذهب همه»“If one bathes in it, one's sins are expiated and one's worry goes”

Ta'tir al-Anam fi Ta'bir al-Manam, ʿAbd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi (d. 1143 AH), p. 30–31. Dar al-Fikr, Beirut (al-Shamela text, book 1217). Translated from the Arabic by Fil Manam.

Interpretation differs with the dreamer's state, and Allah knows best.
