Snake dream meaning in Islam

What the classical Islamic books of dream interpretation say about this symbol, with the book and page.

What al-Nabulsi wrote

Did you see a snake in your dream? Al-Nabulsi wrote in Ta'tir al-Anam that a snake may point to enmity, but a snake the dreamer does not fear is their strength and power, and whoever kills one overcomes an enemy. Interpretation differs with the dreamer's state, and Allah knows best. Saw something you dislike? Seek refuge in Allah, and don't tell anyone about it.

From the book

  • «وربما دل على العداوة من الأهل»“And perhaps it points to enmity from one's family”
  • «أنه ملك ثعبانا فإنه يصيب سلطانا عظيما»“That one owns a snake: one gains great authority”

Ta'tir al-Anam fi Ta'bir al-Manam, ʿAbd al-Ghani al-Nabulsi (d. 1143 AH), p. 57. Dar al-Fikr, Beirut (al-Shamela text, book 1217). Translated from the Arabic by Fil Manam.

Saw something you dislike? Seek refuge in Allah, and don't tell anyone about it.

From the Prophet's guidance ﷺ on a disliked dream (Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Dreams).

Interpretation differs with the dreamer's state, and Allah knows best.
